For a plant food to be considered organic, it is essential that its production system has not used agricultural inputs (whether fertilizers or phytosanitary products) that are not suitable for organic farming. The products for organic agriculture achieve the certification when it meets the standards and conditions that are defined in the laws on organic farming, two of the most important and recognized worldwide being Regulation CE 889/2008 in Europe and the USDA / Standard. When certifying products for organic agriculture, the participation of a certification agency is necessary, since they will be in charge of reviewing and evaluating all the documentation submitted by the manufacturer and making the final decision, indicating whether or not the input is suitable for use in agriculture. ecological. The manufacturer, guided at all times by both the certifier and the Regulation under which he wants to be certified, must prepare an entire technical dossier, where documents of both the finished product must be included (certificates of analysis, safety data sheets, labels, process manufacturing, composition, etc.), as well as the raw materials used in its manufacture (certificates of origin, technical sheets, safety sheets, flow charts, etc.). Sometimes it is also necessary to visit the facilities and take samples to be analyzed by the certifying agents themselves.
But obtaining the certification of products for organic farming is much more than complying with a regulation. The absence of unsuitable residues in its composition, as well as its biodegradability without leaving residues in the crops and the environment, stable and effective formulations against the needs of the crop, raw materials of natural origin (mineral, vegetable or animal), non-GMO (genetically modified organisms) are common characteristics to this type of input, which allows them to significantly differentiate themselves from other products on the market. Certifiers are increasingly strict, and request even the smallest detail, be it raw materials, the manufacturing process, traceability, storage, etc. That is why it is becoming more and more difficult to obtain such highly demanded certifications.
The market for fertilizers and biostimulants suitable for organic farming is in continuous growth and development, with increasingly innovative products appearing that fulfill a double function, on the one hand they cover the needs of the crop for which they were designed and on the other they can be used to organic production. Within this type of product we can find many examples, one of the most innovative being biostimulants with a “priming effect”, designed so that the plant can tolerate or cope with stressful situations to which it may be subjected in the future. close, thus anticipating the problem.
The R + D + i technical department, within the Indalva Group, has developed a new range of products for organic farming called SIZERO, within which are the new products DISPER SIZERO Zedio and DISPER SIZERO Zitios, biostimulants capable of providing crops of the skills needed to overcome different types of stress. Both products have been formulated with a high WSG-FB formulation technology and are framed within the national fertilizer regulations. In addition, from the bases of its development, the EC Regulation 889/2008 on production and labeling of organic products has been taken into account, so that these two inputs, resulting from an exhaustive investigation, were at all times suitable for organic farming.
